Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) is a federal government parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. NAMA It is mandated to provide air navigation services across the Nigerian Flight Information Region. It was established by Act of Parliament No. 48 (1999) and commenced operations on May 29, 1999.
NAMA oversees air traffic control, navigation services, aeronautical charting, and consulting. It coordinates major infrastructure upgrades like the Safe Tower Project (STP) to align with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) . NAMA has implemented RNAV procedures across various aerodromes and established 19 RNAV routes, supported by extensive VOR/DME infrastructure
